Grid Iron New York City - Inspired by Rodchenko - honestly! Scooters In Saigon - View Through A Cyclo - Saigon - If guide books are to be believed the life of the cyclo drivers is very sad. Before the American War many cyclo drivers were doctors, teachers or journalists, but like many of their friends they were punished for siding with the Americans. After the cease fire tens of thousands of them were stripped of their citizenship and sent to re-education camps for seven years or more. More than 20 years later, it is still impossible for them to return to the jobs they are qualified to do and, as most do not have an official residence permit (which means they can't own property or a business), it's technically illegal for them to be in the city. Many of these men have never had families because they could not afford - or were not permitted by the government - a home to live in. Hoan Kiem Lake - Hanoi - Thap Rua (Tortoise Tower) sits on an islet near the southern end, it's topped with a red star and is often used as an emblem of Hanoi. Every morning around 6am, local residents can be seen doing their traditional t'ai chi, jogging and playing badminton around the lake. Reflecting In Hanoi - Hoan Kiem Lake - Right in the heart of Hanoi, Hoan Kiem Lake is an enchanting body of water.

Legend has it that, in the mid 15th Century, Heaven sent Emperor Ly Thai To (Le Loi) a magical sword, which he used to drive the Chinese out of Vietnam. One day after the war he stumbled upon a giant golden tortoise swimming on the surface of the water, the creature grabbed the sword and disappeared into the depths of the lake. Since that time, the lake has been known as Ho Hoan Kiem (Lake of the Restored Sword) because the tortoise restored the sword to its divine owners.

The bridge to the right of the picture is Huc Bridge.
Hoi An - We had a couple of days in Hoi An which prior to the arrival of the French was Vietnam's Night Time In Marrakech - This photo was taken in Marrakech during a trip I took there in November 2006. I like the way the picture pulls you in and wonder what's going on. The Metal Works Area - Marrakech - This photo was taken in the Souks, Marrakech. Its the metal works area where all the lamps and everything else you can think of is made. I also used a selenium tone on the final black and white print to add to the overall feel. This photograph was taken during a trip in November 2006 Simple Composition - This black and white print was taken in Marrakech in the Medina. Simple enough just caught my eye. In The Medina - Marrakech - A very simple black and white photograph but I think it sets the scene nicely. This photograph was taken in the Medina in Marrakech.
